This was a forced perspective model of the Marshalsea Court, a London debtors prison where Charles Dickens' father was imprisoned in 1824. This was a miniature designed to be used for a short film about the life of Charles Dickens, that would see the actors green screened into the courtyard. The detailed elements were influenced by visits to the exhibition on the Marshalsea Court at the Charles Dickens Museum, 48 Doughty Street and the last remaining wall from the Marshalsea in Southwalk, London. Due to the building being demolished and having no scale to work to, the model was created by linking a camera up to a laptop and, using the image printed onto acetate as a guide, plotted each point of the building by eye.
